Why Would You Want to Start Your Own Internet Business?

1. Positive Anonymity

Internet is really making everyone equally (no matter where, what kind of physical appearance, etc.), only one thing is distinguished: that is the ability / skill. My experience when starting a career as a web designer online is on a website design competition, where everyone can submit entries and the client will choose the winner to be use on their projects.

In real life, the opportunity is certainly very hard to come by, especially when we are a beginner. We are required to first have to find prospects, offers, and not necessarily be accepted just because of lack of experience. Unlike in the Internet world, like my first experience, I managed to get 2 choices chance, the first is I'll get a dollar and prospective clients, if I can win it. The second is; though I did not win, anyway at least I have a portfolio that can be displayed so that other prospective clients can see what I've done.

2. Effective & Efficient

Because the majority of us will never meet clients in person, and therefore the cost of transportation and the cost of cafe for the meeting will be zero. You also will not be much time for travel or even meetings that do not necessarily lead to project. You can easily communicate using email, Instant Messenger, Skype and maybe phone, we just need to maintain our professionalism by replying quickly and carefully, because the clients basically do not like to wait for the late reply, even if they have to wait tell the reason.

3. Infinite Networks

What I mean here is a network of friends, and extensive connections. We just need to start to introduce ourselves respectively, to communicate through social networks such as blogs, Twitter, or Facebook. So that if one day we need help then we can easily find the right person. For example, as a designer I am less familiar with coding, so the last couple of months I started to look for and get acquainted with some talented coder. And guess what, it is not hard to find; I just have to look through the right community.

That does not mean just looking for a network that can help us be, we should also find a friend, who has different abilities than us, such as marketing, writing, SEO etc. Which is quite different from our scope. That way the general knowledge gained will increase.

4. Freedom of Choice

Yes, your career is yours. Are you going to continue to pursue a career that already exists? Or want to switch to another career? Everything is up to you. It takes only the courage to choose. So indirectly you also train your sense of personal responsibility. Free does not mean disorganized.

5. Explores the Hidden Talents

When we work with other people (office workers), then over time we will find a loophole / templates and projects to resolve issues that come up every time. So do not be surprised if it's too long to work in the office then we will be stuck at a certain skill level, and we also tend to be lazy to develop other skills, "yet with this ability we've got enough money".

Well if we already have our own business, then we will feel the struggle, and we will realize that the skills that we have now is not adequate, there are many other things that must be learned. For example, writing, communication, project manage, negotiate, and cooperate with people we have not met before and others.

6. It’s Cheap!

There will be many who ask, what about the initial capital?

I would answer it was very cheap! If it is compared with the results we will be able to capture, of course it's very sensible. What is certain is that we need an Internet connection; well this is very cheap right? I use an Internet service provider at the rate of 30USD per month, using a computer that is 2 years old (bought when I graduated from college), it can still count on. And do not forget, in doing business on the Internet, your initial capital is the ability.

7. It was great fun

The latter is certainly one of our goals. We work and career to be able to live a happy life, right? You will have more time for family or girlfriend, and also personal project. Also likely to make new friends, new network, new experiences and new opportunities; also earn money from all our careers on the Internet. How awesome is that?

Have you wanted to start a business on the Internet? Do you want to start, but still have doubts? Or is there another reason? Please comment.
