The fact that there is still a lot of graphic designers who forget: "communication" as a vital element in graphic design that finally prod me to write this article. Yup! although well aware of course that the problem of how to communicate well through visual designers who are departing from design schools. But there's nothing wrong, today I'm gonna try to share what I know about this.
What is the relationship of communication with graphic design!? Of course, very connected! Like people who sell skin care products, they talked at length about their products (communication) to prospective customers who gathered in front, and hope that they are interested to buy their products. as well as graphic designers. It's just a little different, graphic designers visually communicate through the media or image.
However, although a vital role in graphic design, many designers who often ignore this. They were too focused on aesthetics (art and beauty) and often override the communication. They try to dazzle the reader by adding visual shadow (which is not in place) on the text, making the work they are filled with a variety of illustrations, so that even obscure the important points that should be the focal point.
If so, it makes no difference a graphic designer with a non-graphic designers. A business owner for example, tried to design their own pamphlets shop. But he never knows how to communicate visually. What happened next was predictable: they enlarge everything, from starting his business logo, services offered, to the addresses and telephone numbers. With hope, because it was brought up, then the message can be up to the reader with an effective visual.
But whether it's effective!? The answer is absolutely not!
Visual reader becomes confused. Which one would be read first (because they were large). It is impossible to read everything at once in one time. In addition, a graphic work that is too tight will also make a visual readers away, there is no focal point, and to appear unprofessional. Therefore, often there is a saying among graphic designers: "if everything is great, then everything will look small."
Maybe a little introduction about the importance of communication in graphic design may be beneficial. And graphic designers can be more appreciated his work and abilities.
