1. To Promote Yourself as a Designer
Why Designers Should Blog
At the moment a lot of designers qualified people were scattered everywhere, you might feel confused, how can you be realized by the client was among the crowd. Yep, one way is by blogging. Especially if your blog is interesting.

Blog with content that is weighted to give an opportunity for you to be more known and trusted. As a client, one of the main factors that determine which designer will be hired in addition to the portfolio is the most trusted designers.

Remember, clients can come from anywhere. So, with blogging, you've added one possibility to be discovered by the client that the possibility of a permanent reader of your blog.

2. Expanding Social Networks

The more extensive social networks a person (in this context, a designer) will certainly be better. With an interesting blog, usually visitors will be fixed readers and find out "who is the writer of this blog?". Not just readers, but we also have the opportunity to get acquainted with fellow bloggers, designers, or people who are interested in the field of what we understand.

Just share the experience, from this Jayce-o blog, I get a chance to meet some people who also have the common interest.

3. Understanding and Knowledge

I always do browsing on related topics when I wanted to write an article, either through the internet, books or magazines. From these activities, I got the new things that would add to my understanding of related topics.

It is inevitable, every designer must have had their own ideology. However, it doesn't mean we reject the ideology of other direct raw. Now, with blogging, we have the opportunity to share ideas and thoughts we will be certain topics to others who may be providing feedback so that they can share their thoughts. Maybe we'll get the new things that can enrich our ideology over the years.

I often see articles that even intentionally make an article as a forum for discussion within reason. I am personally very interested to know the views of people who are sometimes unique and never even thought about before.

5. To Demonstrate your ability

When you write an article about the field that you understand, these articles will be measured by how big your understanding of it. If enabled portfolio to demonstrate your design ability and technique, then a blog can serve to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding about the design itself.

Writing and communicating are two things that are important in various aspects of life. A designer also must be mastered to facilitate relationships with clients or others.
Just imagine, when you are required to present the results of your design that has actually been okay but not accompanied with an attractive presentation, this design could not be accepted. Yep, very unfortunate!

Blogs can be made as one means to practice these skills effectively.

Blog is not a requirement that they must possess in order to become a designer. But if with blogging we can get various benefits, why not?

My last suggestion if you want to start blogging, make an interesting blog with these blog posts to maintain consistency. Not necessarily about the design, may only contain your daily journal. With good content and consistent, your blog will eventually attract the attention of the virtual world.

Great post - web design or any design is a form of communication and expression so blogging or writing about your design can only extend that. Not all visual artists are strong writers however, so make sure that your written message (spelling, grammar, tone) are as strong as your design work! Or you might end up doing more harm than good.
